Ootoya

This time I decided to try something new...

Bakudan Don
Hotate Rice (scallop rice)
I felt like I had to eat fast because this thing kept on burning and my rice was making that "ssssssss" sound.
This chicken with radish came with the scallop rice meal.

Thonglor, J Avenue branch.

Zen's Dessert

This might be really really simple but I lovee Shaved ice + syrup + condensed milk + azuki (red beans) from Zen!

Seoul

There is this Korean restaurant that I have been going to since I was young called Seoul. This restaurant is located on the main street in Thonglor. It's a barbeque place with charcoal grill pits. It's not cheap but their food is so worth the money!
Ox Tongues
I'm not sure what this is but it was the appetizer.
Kimchee
Beef Bibimbob - this is to die for.
Green Tea shaved ice

Michizure

I decided on this place mainly because of the little red octopus on their sign. This place is on Ekkamai road in the little artsy plaza. This place serves a lot of octopus (tako) and different varieties of Japanese pizza.
Tako Salad with seaweed.
No, we don't get to make these Okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza) ourselves but the hot plate is to keep it warm.

Kanom

Kanom is a chain restaurant/cafe. This place doesn't serve delicious meals but appetizers and their Egg Tarts are what they are well known by. This one I went to is by Punya Village, the place is decorated with super comfortable couches and the atmosphere is super cozy.
Crispy Shrimp Wontons with sweet dip. Tasty and crunchy shrimp on the inside.

Their Egg tarts come in two versions; one is made from pure egg whites, and the other one is made from the yolks. I chose the "egg yolks" one. This didn't taste as amazing as I expected.

Ramen Tei

I have been going to Ramen Tei with my parents since I was young. It's like the most real authentic Japanese ramen place here in BKK, at least in my opinion it is.
We weren't supposed to take pics here... but the lady kinda told me after I took all the pictures..
Tonkotsu Ramen

Moyashi Ramen - lots of bean sprouts and vegetables in shoyu soup.

Hyde & Seek

I was watching TV one day and saw an interview on Chef Ian Kittichai, apparently he owned a few famous restaurants in NY and some of them I've already been to! He recently opened up a new restaurant in BKK called Hyde and Seek, so I decided to go stalk him there... and yes, he was at the restaurant! He was soo cool, he definitely had this "chef aura."
Pork with chocolate sauce.
This is horrible but I forget what this was called.
Popcorn shrimp (this was one of the best dishes)
Grilled chicken with emulsion.

I apologize for horrible pictures but the lighting was so horrible :(

Singaporean Restaurant

There's this old Singaporean restaurant across from J Avenue in Thonglor that serves amazing Singaporean food. The place looks a little run down, and the interior looks a lot like a Brooklyn Chinese takeout place (well, minus the bullet proof glass at the cashier/order window). Not a very nice place to sit and chat but the food is tasty! There's one thing about this place though, dishes are quite pricy!
Tofu + veggie gravy.
Lad-Na (stir-fried noodles + gravy with seafood)
Chicken rice.

Baked Duck.

Scoozi

Scoozi is a chained Italian restaurant in Thailand. It's just my personal opinion but I think they serve the best pizza here in Thailand. I had these delivered and they were still amazing. It might just be me but I think they taste better at the restaurant.
Chef's Special Pizza - Tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy salami, ham, mushrooms, prawns, chili.

All' Amatriciana - Tomato sauce , smoked bacon, fresh chili and onions.
This was super spicy but still tasty!

Spa Food

There's this "organic area" by where I live on Ramintra-Ekkamai express way where they sell all healthy and organic food. Lots of restaurants in the plaza are also healthy and organic. One of the restaurants in little plaza is called Spa Foods. This place serves varieties of vegetarian dishes at decent prices.
Lemon steamed fish (t0fu fish) this tasted exactly like fish.

Stir fried beef with vegetables. Yes, tofu beef. It was crunchy on the outside just like how beef would be.

Aumpawa (Floating Market)

About an hour or 2 away from BKK there's a floating market called Aumpawa. There's just so much food there you woudln't know where to start.
It looks like this.
Where I got my lunch.
My lunch. This was amazing.

Chargrilled Scallops.
