Rakuza

I wandered around Thonglor and came across Rakuza in the area called "The Grass." Something about this place lured me inside without even looking at the menu first. Turned out, it was a Japanese fusion place. The atmosphere of the restaurant was more like a grown up place, this is definitely a perfect place to get away from the lousy teenagers.

I forget what these were but everything was extremely delicious! The service was amazing, very friendly staffs including the Japanese head chef there. I gotta go back to this place!

Doo Dee ดู๋ด๊๋

Doo Dee is a really old noodle spot in Siam that has been there for a long time. I personally did not think this place was all that. The soup was rather sweet and not spicy. The dishes look a lot spicier than they really are. To me, this place was just, ehh..

Spicy glass noodles.
Tom Yum with skinny rice noodles.

Est. 33 by Sigha

There's this really cute beer garden in CDC (Crystal Design Center) Everything is quite pricey but they've got some really good beer. Since this place is such a hot spot, getting a table here has to be done wayyy in advance.
Onion rings.
Smoked salmon salad with pomegranate (this is def. one of my favorite dishes from here).

German sausages.

Coco Curry

Coco Curry Ichibanya is a chain restaurant from Japan. I went to the one at Esplanade mall.. for some reason Thais are obsessed with this place... I think it's good but not so good that I want to go so often. I think its quite pricy for a plate of curry.

Fried Chicken curry with mushrooms and extra cheese. The cheese def made this meal so much more fattening.
and when you order as a set, they give you a side of salad and a bottle of drink of your choice.

ABAC

My boss had to speak at ABAC in Bangna so I had a reason to visit the campus for the first time. The campus was beautiful but too crowded. For lunch at Abac all restaurants we walked into smelt funky, not air conditioned, and were allll out of food. We had no choice but to walk into any place that had food.. so we landed here. I don't remember the name of the restaurant... but it's really not important.
Wonton with pork, these definitely look better than they taste. They did not taste good.

Grilled duck over jade noodles with sauce. This tasted just alright.

Sagano (Thonglor)

A friend of mine owns a ramen spot up in Thonglor 13, Right by J Avenue. I decided to try it out one day...
Shoyu soup with beef.
Shoyu soup with Pork.
This is probably my favorite out of all the things I ordered, cold ramen in miso sauce. Similar to a dish called Hiyashi chuka. (it's probably the same thing with a different name)

Kuroda

Kuroda is definitely a good place to pig out. It's a type of Japanese all you can eat where you can just sit on your bum and order massive amount of food. It's 450B. per head which isn't cheap but I think quality is well worth the $$.

Tofu salad- this tastes better than it looks.
Fish steaks
Shrimp Tempura- surprisingly these were not doughy. Tastes pretty good actually.

While a good friend of mine from US was visiting me here she also had her friends visit her from China. We decided to go out to a nice dinner and I took them to To Die For. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu...
Our friends ordered Oyster Shots

Smoked salmon wrapped with carrot and celery served with spicy sauce and mint leaf

Grilled tiger prawn & scallops with lime and min sauce.

Seasonal Sorbet
Banoffee = this was the best Banoffee I've ever had.

See Fah's Catering Service!!

There was a press release day for one of the products in my company and we had a catering service by See Fah. See Fah is a chain restaurant that has been around for the longest time. Their food used to be better in the past but their catering service was definitely something...
Biscuits with shrimp roe.
Tuna sandwiches,
Sticky rice and shrimp.

Fruit tarts - I kinda wish the tarts were a little crunchier.
Chocolate and vanilla eclair's.
Ham and cheese croissant.
Biscuit with cream and caviar... they tasted alright.

Sticky rice with sweet shrimp.

iberry

iberry is one of my favorite places for desserts, many ppl might know iberry for their interesting ice cream flavors.
A scoop of raspberry cheesecake and a scoop of Santol. I personally do not like Santols so I find this flavor a little odd. It does taste exactly like the actual fruit with the texture. I think it's the "tissue" texture that give me the chills when I eat santols. The cheesecake one though, was really really good, I could feel the cheesecake bits floating in every bite and slowly melt with the ice cream.

Ootoya

This time I decided to try something new...

Bakudan Don
Hotate Rice (scallop rice)
I felt like I had to eat fast because this thing kept on burning and my rice was making that "ssssssss" sound.
This chicken with radish came with the scallop rice meal.

Thonglor, J Avenue branch.

Seoul

There is this Korean restaurant that I have been going to since I was young called Seoul. This restaurant is located on the main street in Thonglor. It's a barbeque place with charcoal grill pits. It's not cheap but their food is so worth the money!
Ox Tongues
I'm not sure what this is but it was the appetizer.
Kimchee
Beef Bibimbob - this is to die for.
Green Tea shaved ice
